What Apworth actually does

Four pillars, and Ask across all of them. Every community turns on the parts it needs and leaves the rest off.

Workforce

Who is on, what they are owed, and whether they are still qualified to be there.

  • Roster builder with role, qualification and coverage visible while you build
  • Open shifts staff can claim, plus leave requests and approvals
  • Timesheets from real clock-ins, with unpaid breaks deducted from worked hours
  • Award-aware pay: penalties and loadings applied per award, effective-dated
  • Credentials and training records with expiry alerts before the shift, not after
  • CSV and PDF exports for payroll and for the people on the roster

Community

The daily life of the place, organised once and visible to everyone in it.

  • Event calendar with RSVPs, waitlists and attendance
  • Notice board that replaces the printed pile
  • Messaging between residents, staff and family, and group chats
  • Service requests tracked from received to done
  • Weekly menus with meal RSVPs and sittings
  • Photo gallery, newsletters, handbooks and forms

Wallet

The money side, legible to the people who have to ask about it.

  • Invoices and statements per resident
  • Payments and balances, current at a glance
  • Charges from the shop and services, itemised
  • Family visibility, so the question gets answered without a phone call

Governance

The evidence builds itself while the team works, instead of the week before an audit.

  • Incident and hazard registers with follow-up owners
  • Maintenance jobs and service requests in one queue
  • Asset register with condition, forecasting and spend reporting
  • Policies with read-and-sign tracking
  • Compliance records per staff member
  • Audit logging across authentication and administrative actions

Ask

One sentence instead of four screens

Who is short-staffed next week?Whose credentials expire before their next shift?Move Thursday's outing to Friday and tell everyone bookedPut Priya on Saturday morning and log her break

For Residents & Families

The side residents see

Games

Trivia, Name the Year, Word Grid, Memory Match, Hangman, Solitaire, plus Hearts and 500 against the neighbours. Leaderboards and personal bests.

Guides

What is on this week, the notice board, the menu, photos and the handbooks. Everything a resident would otherwise walk to the office to ask about.

Contacts

Family and carers get their own login so they can follow along and help manage things. You set how much each of them can see and do.

Where Apworth Stops

Apworth is not a clinical system

No care plans, no progress notes, no medication charts, no medical records. Ask hands anything clinical to a staff member rather than answering it. Apworth runs alongside the clinical software you already have.

What it does hold is the workforce evidence around care: whether a carer's medication competency is current, whether a police check has lapsed, whether the incident was logged and followed up.
